Having the walls unfinished leaves us with one problem... these areas next to the steps. 
The kids "accidentally" drop things down there daily. 
No way am I reaching my hand down there. Everything creepy and crawly has to be living down there, I just know it.
My husband saw it as a none issue that didn't need attention, but he knows me to well.
It's just easier for him to fix it then listen to me create wild stories about what could be living down there.A wonderful fix, looks great and blocks off the tunnels to the unknown.
